Finding a Careeer Path is an exciting journey, but like many decisions, it comes with challenges. Mistakes are a natural part of learning, but avoiding common pitfalls can save you time and frustration. Here are the top mistakes Dreamchazer make when making decisions on their career paths and how to resolve them:

1. Hanging with the wrong crowd. (Influencers)

As the saying goes "If it looks like duck, quack like duck, it must be duck". What does that mean in simple terms. If you hang around people that are losers, not going anywhere in their life, and just clearly want to do bad things. Then you are more than likely to follow the same bad habits and decisions made. How do you change that? Answer: Change your friends.....or even better join clubs at school. Get in a group that has value and interest like the Toastmaster Club. Surround yourself with positive people that are ambitious and knows what they want to do with their lives. It is better to have 2 - 3 good quality friends. Then 10 bad apples just rotten from the core looking for trouble.

2. Do you have a vision. Write down your career goals

Without a vision the people shall parrish. Write the vision and make it plain and simple. All Dreamchazers should have at least 10 career goals they would like to accomplish. Five should be short -term goals on what you as a person want to accomplish this year. And then 5 long-term goals on what you would like to see in the next 5 - 10 years from now. We teach all Dreamchazers to write down their goals and place them in a picture frame so they can always see their goals every day.

3. No Confidence

Understanding the fundamentals of finding the right career starts within a person. Avoid the "What Ifs" and focuse solely on "I Am". I am great. I am confident in anything I put my mind to. I am strong, powerful, amazing, dedicated, and on my way to a great destiny. Don't let negative words or even people distract you from your purpose of doing good things in life. "With Confidence comes Responsibility. With Responsibility Comes Leadership. With Leadership Come A Destiny Of Greatness!"

4. Being Afraid of Asking

Fear of speaking up or just being unsure can halt progress in finding the right career. There is no right or wrong answer to finding the right career. ButStudents need to be encourage to seek the answers they need in order to move forward. Remember, the greatest conversation students can have is with their peers rather than the one inside. Speak Up...Speak Out....Your Voice So Choose!

5. Not doing your research

Did you know at the age 17, students can receive their pilots license? Did you also know, according to Edison&Black.com, AI could lead to the creation of around 97 milion new jobs by 2025. When students don't go and research on their career paths, then its just like a generation of wisdom floating around in the air. These are the Top 10 Career Research Resources To Use:

CareerOneStop

My Next Move

O'NET Online

Skill Up

Bureau of Labor Statistics

By avoiding these common mistakes and focusing on the right group of friends, writing your vision, having confidence, stop being afraid, and doing your research. A well-rounded student can avoid the mistakes and pitfalls of making the wrong mistakes. Embrace the process, stay curious, and enjoy the journey!
